From 1991 to 2003
I was an active member of the theological commission of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft
Christlicher Kirchen in Hamburg (ACKH), which is the Ecumenical Council of Christian Churches of Hamburg. Among the Churches represented are:
the Lutheran Church, the Reformed Church, the Roman Catholic Church, the Orthodox Church, the Baptist Church, the Methodist Church, the Salvation Army, the Mennonite Church, the Anglican Church, the Armenian-Apostolic Church, the Coptic Church, the Seventh-day-Adventist Church and the Pentecostal Church (BFP).
During this period of twelve years, the
commission worked successively on the following topics:
- pneumatology (the doctrine of the Holy Spirit);
- ecclesiology (the doctrine of the Church); - the mission of the Church; - the relationships between Christians and Jews; and - the theology of the Cross.
My major
missiological contributions are reflected in ACKH official statements such as "The Christian Witness in Hamburg" or "The people of Israel and the Mission of the Christian Churches" (text in German)
